Luís Castro: "The two goals were achieved"

After the Brasileirão ended, Luís Castro made a small assessment of the time in Botafogo, through a message published on his social media.
“We set out with the first goal of creating an organization and physical structures that would support our path, along with a squad that would give us the guarantees of success in the final balance of the season, success that would be the permanence in the A series and the qualification for an international test. The two goals were achieved: staying in Serie A and qualifying for the South American League (we dreamed of Libertadores, which unfortunately we did not achieve)”, wrote the Portuguese coach.
It should be noted that Botafogo ended the season in 11th place, with 53 points, the same as América Mineiro, which was one place above. “It was a time of high complexity, made up of sadness and joy, just like the lives of all of us”, commented the coach.
Luís Castro then thanked everyone for their contribution to the project he led in sports: technical team, staff, administration and, of course, the fans.
“We continue together, with the perspective of a year of 2023 with many successes”, he concluded.
